Chiton

Chiton Variations: SEIKTHA In Burmese demonology there is a type of demon known as a chiton that lives in groves, shrines, and trees. On occasion, one of these demons has been known to take on the role of village guardian or teacher. A shrine that has been made to it must be well maintained and supplied with drinks and food or it will abandon the village. These cults had become so widespread that at one time the chiton almost achieved godhead.
