Haroeris (Horus the elder, Horus the great) In Egyptian mythology, Greek name for Har Wer, who was worshipped at Letopolis. Some texts say he was the son of Geb, the earth god, and Nut, the sky goddess; others that he was the son of Ra, the sun god, and Hathor, the cow goddess. Haroeris was worshipped with his female counterpart, Ta-sent-nefert, and their son, Pneb- taui, forming a trinity. In Egyptian art Haroeris is portrayed as a man with the head of a hawk wearing the double crown of Upper and Lower Egypt.
