Felicitas and Her Seven Sons

Coming from a rich Roman family, Felicitas was widowed and brought up her seven sons as Christians. She was arrested, and they were killed one by one in front of her.
Finally, she was beheaded or placed in a boiling caldron. Medieval art portrays her as a veiled widow with a martyr’s palm surrounded by her seven sons.
