Wrong Ride

By Sharon Fong of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

I have a friend who loves taking a ride around town on his dirt bike. Sometimes, he would ask us to join him but he won't mind going alone.

One hot night, he asked us to join him on one of his rides but none of us wanted to go. He went alone and came back telling us what happened that night.

He was riding around the city when he came to Dataran Merdeka. There was some public concert there and so he got off to join in the fun.

When everything ended after midnight, he got back on his bike and sped off. He felt a chill around him but he didn't make out much of it. He thought he would take a longer route for his ride home since it's still rather early. Suddenly, he heard a voice behind him.

“Eh, why this way?”

Immediately he turned around to see who said that. But was shocked to see no one behind. Besides, there were no other vehicles around him. But the voice was so clear. He reckoned “someone” wanted a ride and fortunately he make a detour!
