Adamanthaea

Adamanthaea In Greek mythology, a Cretan nurse of Zeus who suspended his cradle from a tree so that he was neither on earth nor heaven nor the sea. She had drums and cymbals sounded around the tree to drown out his cries. All of this was done to protect Zeus from the anger of his father, Cronus, who wished to swallow his son to prevent Zeus from replacing him as ruler.
