Alseid

The name Alseid derives from Alsos, literally “grove.” Technically, Alseids are Nymphs of groves but are also sometimes associated with grassy meadows, mountain glens, and lightly forested areas. Groves are groupings of trees and Alseids tend to appear in groups, too, as opposed to more solitary Nymphs. They have a good time together: they have a reputation as pranksters and enjoy playing tricks on travellers.

Eurydice, Orpheus’ love, may be an Alseid.
