Caphaurus (Cephalion) (camphor) In Greek mythology, a Libyan shepherd, son of Amphithemis and Tritonis; brother of Nasamon; he killed the Argonauts Canthus and Eribotes for attempting to steal his sheep. He was in turn killed by other Argonauts. Cape Capharus is a rocky promontory in southeast Euboea, where Nauplius lit beacons to lure returning Greek ships to their doom on the rocks.
