Acultomancy

Acultomancy

Acultomancy is the art of reading the future by interpreting patterns that are created from the needles or from the needles when placed in a powdery substance.

Etymology

From the Latin acûleus that literally means needle.

Origin

Using needles comes from the olden days where Gypsies used to read people and use needles as their pointers.

Methods

The Acultomancy practice is considered a form of sortilege, also known as cleormancy. Readers use seven needles or up to twenty one needles in a somewhat shallow bowl with water in it. Needles may also be dropped onto a flat surface that has been coated with powder or flour.

The number of pins or needles may vary from seven to twenty-five needles. Some practitioners use a combination of bent pins and straight pins.

Deviners then look for the pattern that the needles make in the substance to make their readings.
Some of the main designs are lines. They may be broken, parallel, vertical, or horizontal in some fashion. Broken lines are suggestive of interruption, travelling or change. Oblique lines of return. The parallel lines may mean money in the future, either given or taken away. The vertical lines are meant as guided roads to take. The horizontal lines may mean what the fate will be.

A further method is to have pins that are marked with mystical symbols and letters. These are placed in a quiver and drawn out one at a time and the reading taken from the order the pins are drawn. in order to practice Acultomancy. Diviners frequently rely on flour, but other practitioners of the art use substances like salt, sugar and talcum powder.
