Decarabia - Demon and Spirit of Solomon

The Demon Decarabia (Carabia) is a Fallen Angel and 69th of the 72 Spirits of Solomon. Decarabia is a marquis in Hell with 30 Legions of Demons reporting to him. Decarabia appears as a star in a pentacle but changes into a man when ordered to do so. He makes magical birds fly before a magician and leaves them as Familiars, singing and eating as ordinary birds do. Decarabia knows the virtues of herbs and precious stones.

DECARABIA. – The Sixty-ninth Spirit is Decarabia. He appeareth in the Form of a Star in a Pentacle, at first; but after, at the command of the Exorcist, he putteth on the image of a Man.

His Office is to discover the Virtues of Birds and Precious Stones, and to make the Similitude of all kinds of Birds to fly before the Exorcist, singing and drinking as natural Birds do. He governeth 30 Legions of Spirits, being himself a Great Marquis. And this is his Seal, which is to be worn, etc.

Decarabia or Carabia, he commeth like a * and knoweth the force of herbes and pretious stones, and maketh all birds flie before the exorcist, and to tarrie with him, as though they were tame, and that they shall drinke and sing, as their maner is, and hath thirtie legions.

Original Text :Decarabia vel Carabia, magnus Rex and Comes: venit similis *. Vires herbarum and lapidum pretiosorum novit: efficit ut aves coram exorcista volent, and velut familiares ac domesticæ morentur, bibant and cantillent suo more. Parent huic triginta legiones.

Original Text : Carabia ou Decarabia, démon peu connu, quoiqu’il jouisse d’un grand pouvoir au sombre empire. Il est roi d’une partie de l’enfer, et comte d’une autre province considérable. Il se présente, comme Buer, sous la figure d’une étoile à cinq rayons. Il connaît les vertus des plantes et des pierres précieuses ;.il domine sur les oiseaux, qu’il rend familiers. Trente légions sont à sesordres.
