Seker
Seker (Sacharis, Seger, Sokar, Solare, Sokaris) In Egyptian mythology, death god of the necropolis of Memphis. Originally, Seker may have been a vegetation god. Later he was combined with Osiris, the god of the dead. The two were also combined with the craft god Ptah to form the god Ptah-Seker-Osiris. Ptah provided new bodies in which the souls of the righteous were to live, thus symbolizing the addition of creative power (Ptah) to death (Seker and Osiris). Egyptian art usually portrayed Seker as a hawkheaded mummy.
