Chay - Mayan Mythology

Chay In the mythology of the Cakchiquel Maya, obsidian stone from which they made their cutting tools and ornaments; worshipped as a god. The Annals of the Cakchiquels, written at the end of the 16th century, tells how the Indians “gave homage to the Obsidian Stone” and how it spoke to them, telling them where to settle for a happy and good life.
