Eikthyrnir (oak-encircler) In Norse mythology, the hart or stag that eats from the branches of the cosmic or world tree, Yggdrasill. The Prose Edda states that “whilst he is feeding so many drops fall from his antlers down into Hvergelmir that they furnish sufficient water for the rivers that issuing thence flow through the celestial bodies.”
