Hunding In Norse mythology, a king defeated by Helgi. He appears in the Volsunga Saga and Richard Wagner’s Die Walküre, the second opera of Der Ring des Nibelungen. Hunding is portrayed in Arthur Rackham’s illustrations for Wagner’s Ring Cycle.
