Ion (he who goes) In Greek mythology, son of Apollo and Creusa; brother of Janus; married to Helice; father of Aegicores, Argades, Gelem, and Hoples. Ion was abandoned by his mother but was rescued by Apollo and sent to Delphi. He became the ancestor of the Ionians. Ion was killed in the Trojan War. Euripides’ Ion deals with his myth.
