Anameiech is an obscure figure found in later demonological lore, where he is described as a spirit whose appearance brings unwelcome tidings. Some writers also connected Anameiech with the Moon and contrasted him with Andramelech, who was interpreted as possessing a solar nature. Under this interpretation, the two beings form a celestial opposition in which Anameiech represents the lunar principle while Andramelech embodies the solar one. Whether this symbolism reflects an ancient relationship between the figures or a much later attempt by demonologists to impose planetary correspondences upon them remains uncertain.
