Araex: A demon serving the infernal ruler Astaroth, Araex is named in the Mathers translation of the Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage. In the 1725 Peter Hammer edition of the same material, this demon's name is given as Targoe.
In the 1720 version currently kept at the Dresden library, it is spelled Taraoc. There is a great deal of variation between the different Abramelin manuscripts. Much of it can be attributed to scribal error.
