Arrabin

Arrabin is a demon named in The Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage, where he appears among the servitor spirits placed beneath the infernal ruler Magoth.

In the version translated by S. L. MacGregor Mathers, Arrabin is also associated with the arch-fiend Kore, giving him a place within more than one layer of the Abramelin hierarchy. This dual allegiance is characteristic of the complicated spirit catalogues preserved in the Abramelin tradition, where the same demon may appear beneath different rulers depending upon the manuscript or translation being consulted.

The name itself is not completely stable.

In other versions of the Abramelin material, the demon appears as Arrabim, demonstrating once again how easily spirit names could change as magical manuscripts were copied, translated, and transmitted across centuries. Such variations are especially common in works like the Sacred Magic of Abramelin, where obscure names passed through different languages and scribal traditions long before reaching modern occultists.

Because Arrabin is described primarily through hierarchy rather than through appearance or individual powers, his importance lies in the structure to which he belongs.

He is not presented as an independent demon with an elaborate mythology.

He is a subordinate spirit whose identity is defined by service.
