Einherjar

Einherjar In Germanic mythology, the warriors chosen by Odin. They reside at Valhalla and await the last great battle, Ragnarok.
In the Prose Edda (c. 1220 c.e.) by Snorri Sturluson, these warriors are described as “all those men who have fallen in battle since the beginning of the world.” It also says that they will be sent out against the forces of chaos during the last battle. One assumption is that the myth is based on an Odin cult, which included young warrior men who feasted endlessly with Odin.
