Guagugiana (Guaguyona, Vagoniona) In the mythology of the Taino Indians of Cuba at the time of Columbus, a trickster hero. Guagugiana was taught the use of magic amulets by Guabonito, a woman who arose from the sea. Guaguiana’s servant, or friend (depending on which way the various accounts are read), was Giadruvava, who was taken up to heaven and transformed into a bird.
