This urban legend presents the experiences of a young couple who purchase a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken, which they take with them to a movie. While the young woman chews on a drumstick in the darkened theater, she complains that the chicken is “rubbery” and she cannot swallow it. She soon becomes ill and is rushed to a hospital, where the doctors diagnose poisoning. The young man goes out to his car and retrieves the bucket of chicken and takes it to the doctors. They find a batter-encrusted fried rat that had died of strychnine poison, and soon the young woman dies of the same cause.
