Kumokums In North American Indian mythology (Modoc) creator god. One day Kumokums found himself sitting by Tule Lake (in northern California) all alone. There was no land. So Kumokums reached down to the bottom of the lake and pulled up some mud and began to form land and the earth. When he finished that, he created life. Then, growing tired, Kumokums dug a hole and went to sleep inside. But it is believed he will awake one day.
