Lithoboly is the mysterious hails of stones have been reported from time to time in cases of witchcraft and possession. Victims claim to be pelted by stones which suddenly rain down from the sky, or appear from nowhere inside a room. In folklore, the hails are credited to lithobolia, or stone-throwing demons.
