Malingee In Australian mythology, the spirit of the night, who during his travels in the dark seeks to find his way home. Malingee’s knees knock together as he walks. Both people and beasts fear him, for he kills tribesmen with his stone ax at the slightest provocation. Other animals, such as the eagle hawk, may be killed with the stone knives attached to his elbows. His face is said to be an awful sight, with burning eyes that make him appear to be a devil.
