Telepinus

Telepinus was in Near Eastern mythology (Hittite), the god of agriculture who left the earth in anger, causing it to dry up and all life to cease reproduction. His father, the storm god, cried out: “Telepinus has flown into a rage and taken every good thing with him.” The gods sent an eagle to search for Telepinus, but he could not be found, so Hannahanna, the Great Mother goddess, asked the weather god himself to search for his son. When the weather god had no success, Hannahanna sent a bee to find Telepinus. The bee found Telepinus and stung him to wake him up, but that merely made Telepinus angrier. Kamrusepas, the goddess of magic and healing, finally pacified Telepinus with her medicine. The god returned home, and life was restored to the land and people.
