Aji-Suki-Taka-Hi-Kone
One of the Shinto gods of thunder. Just as parents may carry a crying child up and down a hallway to soothe him or her, the gods carry Aji-Suki-Taka-Hi-Kone up and down a ladder to try to quiet him. This explains why the sound of thunder begins faintly, becomes louder, then fades.
