Albertus Magnus, St.

Albertus Magnus, St. (Albert the Great) (1193–1280) In Christian legend, bishop and Doctor of the Church, responsible for the introduction of Aristotelian methods and principles to the study of Christian theology. Feast, 15 November. Albert was considered one of the greatest Christian thinkers of the Middle Ages. He was a Dominican friar and later bishop of Ratisbon. The saint is often portrayed with his student St. Thomas Aquinas in works by the Dominican painter Fra Angelico.
