Conchomancy, a form of geomancy is the art of divination by casting shells.

Etymology

From ancient Greek konche muscle, cockle, shell.

Methods

Cauris or Cypraea moneta are small shells that are the oldest known currency in China but also in Western Africa. Today, they are used for divination in many countries of Western and Central Africa such as Mali, Guinea, Senegal.
