Crawford Road off of Highway 238

Crawford Road, located in Yorktown Virginia, has a colourful and jaded past and is an active hotspot for those in the spirit world. The land was part of a battleground during the Revolutionary and Civil Wars. Many people have reported hearing the ghostly sounds of a battle as well as sighting spectral soldiers in the area.

Today, this road is a favourite for young dragracers, occasionally leading to a deadly car crash. It is also reported to be a favourite dumping ground for those wishing to dispose of murder victims. However, the most famous ghostly resident is that of a young black woman who was left standing at the altar on her wedding day. She hung herself from the bridge in a fit of sorrow, shame, and desperation. Her restless spirit can be seen running along the bridge in her white wedding dress or hanging from the bridge from her hanging rope. This is an extremely active site for the supernatural.

Please note, however, that in an effort to keep ghost hunters and thrill seekers (many of whom have painted racial slurs on the bridge) away from the site, the road sign on one side of the road has been changed from Crawford Road to Crafford Road. The road goes straight through to the highway and on the other side of the road, the sign reads “Crawford Road.”
