Kishijoten is a spirit of love, beauty and good luck. She is considered to be Bishamon’s sister and so has close connections with the Shichi Fujukin, Japan’s Seven Spirits of Good Luck. Kishijoten is now most famous as the matron goddess of geishas. Those who consider themselves modern geishas may seek Kishijoten’s protection.

FAVOURED PEOPLE:

Singers; dancers; courtesans; children: Kishijoten is invoked by mothers to provide protection for infants and older children.
