Mantan

Mantan: Another demonic name that appears in connection with the Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage that nevertheless appears quite differently from one version of the text to another. In the version of the Abramelin material kept at the Wolfenbiittel library in Germany, the name is spelled Matatam. Yet in the version found at the library of Dresden, the name is Pialata. As none of these are the original Abramelin text, there is no way of
knowing which spelling is correct. All texts agree, however, that this demon is a follower of the archfiend
Magoth.
