Mayrion

Mayrion is a demon whose title, “the Black One Who Calls the Void,” immediately places him among the more ominous figures of grimoire tradition. The name carries an atmosphere of annihilation and darkness, suggesting a spirit whose power is connected with destruction rather than persuasion or temptation.

He appears in the Liber de Angelis, where he is associated with a severe form of vengeance magic. Within that text, Mayrion is invoked as a force capable of bringing ruin upon those regarded as enemies. His role is therefore not subtle. He belongs to a current of magical thought in which hostile spiritual power is directed toward breaking opposition completely.

Mayrion is also associated with the use of heavy metals, especially lead and iron, substances that carry strong symbolic weight within traditional magic. Lead has long been connected with Saturn and with forces of restriction, heaviness and decay, while iron has often been linked with martial strength and destructive force. These associations reinforce the nature attributed to Mayrion and place him within a distinctly severe occult framework.

His planetary correspondences deepen that symbolism. Saturn connects him with darkness, limitation and endings, while Mars links him with conflict, aggression and force. The combination creates a spirit whose character is defined by concentrated destructive pressure, making him especially suited to the darker currents of ceremonial magic described in the Liber de Angelis.
