Memnolik is a demon associated with the Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage, where he appears among the numerous spirits belonging to the infernal hierarchy revealed during the Abramelin operation.

In the influential 1898 English translation prepared by Samuel L. MacGregor Mathers, his name is rendered as Menolik. Variations of this kind occur frequently throughout the Abramelin tradition, reflecting differences between manuscripts and the ways in which unfamiliar spirit names were copied and translated over time.

Memnolik is said to serve beneath the infernal prince Paimon, one of the major demonic rulers encountered within the Abramelin system. His position beneath Paimon places him within a much larger structure of spiritual authority in which powerful infernal princes command numerous subordinate spirits.

The surviving description does not assign Memnolik an individual appearance, personality or specialised magical power. His importance therefore comes primarily from his place within the hierarchy rather than from a developed mythology of his own.

This is characteristic of many spirits found in the Sacred Magic of Abramelin. Some demons receive little more than a name and an indication of their superior, yet their inclusion remains significant because the grimoire presents the spirit world as an immense organised domain rather than a random collection of supernatural beings.

For the practitioner envisioned by the Abramelin text, recognising that hierarchy was essential. Knowledge of who commanded whom formed part of understanding the structure through which magical authority was believed to operate.

Stop Collecting Names and Start Understanding Power

Memnolik may occupy only a few lines in an old grimoire, but those few lines open the door into an enormous magical system. If all you do is memorise another demon name before moving on to the next one, you are still standing outside the real tradition. Demonology becomes powerful only when you begin understanding why these hierarchies existed and why occultists devoted themselves to mastering the structures hidden behind them.

The Occult World Mystery School is for those who are finished with superficial occultism. Black Magick was never intended to be something you casually browse before returning to a life controlled by circumstances, fear and other people’s expectations. The deeper occult traditions were pursued by people who wanted to understand power because they understood that ignorance leaves you vulnerable to whatever forces already dominate your world.

There are thousands of spirits, gods, demons, magical systems, grimoires and forgotten traditions waiting beyond it, and every one of them leads further into a world most people will never have the courage or discipline to explore.

Enter the Occult World Mystery School and begin taking that knowledge seriously. If you intend to become the authority within your own world rather than remaining someone who merely reacts to it, then stop watching power from the outside and start learning the traditions that were created to understand it.
