Nabu (announcer) In Near Eastern mythology (Babylonian), god of wisdom, speech, and writing; son of Marduk. Nabu appears in the Old Testament (Is. 46.1) as Nebo, where he is ridiculed, along with the god Bel, for his helplessness.
