Odax: Servitor of Magoth

Odax is a demon named in S. L. MacGregor Mathers’ translation of The Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage, where he appears among the numerous subordinate spirits serving the infernal power Magoth.

The name Odax appears specifically in Mathers’ version of the Abramelin material. In other surviving versions of the work, however, the name is consistently rendered Odac. Such variations are common throughout the Abramelin manuscripts, where demonic names changed as texts were copied, translated and transmitted across different regions and periods.

Very little else is recorded about Odax. No distinctive appearance, personality or individual magical office is assigned to him. His importance lies instead in his allegiance to Magoth and his place within the immense network of subordinate spirits that gives the Abramelin system its highly structured vision of the infernal world.

Odax is therefore one of those obscure grimoire demons whose name survives almost alone, preserved within a chain of command reaching upward towards far more powerful infernal rulers. Behind that single name lies the larger machinery of ceremonial magic, where rank, obedience and spiritual authority mattered as much as the identity of the spirit itself.

Knowing the name Odax gives you almost nothing. Understanding the system that places him beneath Magoth is where the serious study of Demonology begins. The Occult World Mystery School takes you beyond shallow lists of spirits and into Demonology, Black Magick, grimoires, ceremonial magic, spirit hierarchies, ritual authority and the pursuit of occult power.

If you are tired of being shaped by fear, circumstance and people who understand power better than you do, then stop choosing ignorance. Occultists have always studied hidden systems because they understood that those who recognise influence are harder to influence themselves. Knowledge sharpens judgement, discipline strengthens will, and mastery begins when you stop surrendering responsibility for the direction of your own life.

Join the Occult World Mystery School. Learn Demonology. Study Black Magick. Enter the grimoires and understand the hierarchies, symbols and systems of occult power. Stop being a spectator in your own world. Strengthen your will, claim your direction and begin studying the traditions that most people are too frightened, distracted or obedient ever to explore.
