Pecthimancy or Petchimancy is a divination by observing the results of brushed clothes.

Etymology

Derived from the Greek pekte ('netting') and manteia ('prophecy')

Origin

Before the modern laundries and dry cleaning, fine clothing was cleansed by brushing the soil off.
