Sno-Nysoa

sNo-NYsoa (God the Creator) Kru (Liberia) The Creator, who lived in the heavens and had four sons of whom he was extremely fond. Sno-Nysoa gave each of his sons a necklace of leopard teeth for protection and sent them to visit Earth. When he wanted them to return, they refused, because life on Earth was so pleasant. Earth begged Sno-Nysoa to let his sons remain. However, Sno-Nysoa said that he would get his sons back. The next morning, the eldest failed to wake up. Earth went up to the heavens, where Sno-Nysoa explained that he had taken his son back. He showed his son to Earth and told Earth to bury the body that had been left behind. The same thing happened to each of the remaining sons. When the fourth son failed to wake up, Earth found that he could not go up to the heavens to see the young man. Sno-Nysoa had closed the way. From that time on, Sno-Nysoa used his power to take people from Earth, and no one could ever see them again.
