St. Philip’s Cemetery
The city of Charleston, South Carolina, is rich in history, culture, and hauntings. St. Philip’s Church is located in the French Quarter, the oldest part of the city. The current church was built in 1823, replacing the previous church that was destroyed by fire. Even though this is a working city, it is very quiet at night in the French Quarter. There are many reminders of the past as you walk through the French Quarter. As you walk, you will see very decorative posts where horses were once tied up and boot scrapers by the front doors of some of the homes. Some of the brick sidewalks and cobblestone streets still remain. It is almost as if time has forgotten this area. St. Philip’s Cemetery is along the side of the church, and there is also a section that is across the street. This is the section where I took several paranormal photos. It was approximately 10 p.m. when I took them. I took the above picture not expecting anything to show up because it was so dark out, and there was nothing out of the ordinary in the cemetery. After I snapped the picture, I saw the vortexes on the camera screen and immediately took another picture. The second picture also showed similar light streaks, though they appeared to have moved from the first position. Many people have reported capturing strange phenomena in the pictures they have taken here. Charleston is a great place to visit for anyone who has an interest in ghosts. There are several different books about the Charleston ghosts, and there are still many more stories left to be told.
