Turaida Castle – Sigulda

Turaida Castle, located in the picturesque Gauja River Valley, is famous for the legend of the Rose of Turaida. According to the legend, a young woman named Maija, known as the Rose of Turaida, was murdered in the castle grounds. Her spirit is said to still wander the area, and some visitors have reported seeing a ghostly figure of a woman dressed in white, believed to be Maija, especially near the castle tower.
