Turan is the Etruscan goddess of love, joy, and prosperity. Her name may derive from a root verb meaning “to give.”The Greeks and Romans identified Turan with Aphrodite and Venus.
MANIFESTATION:
Turan is a young, winged woman.
ICONOGRAPHY:
Turan wears very little clothing but lots of jewelry. Her image appears frequently on Etruscan bronze hand mirrors.
Consort: Maris (the Etruscan name for Mars), but she also had a torrid romance with Heracle (Etruscan Heracles).
