Jean-Louis Blanchard, a tripsman for the Hudson’s Bay Company, would depart from Lower Fort Garry every spring, leaving behind his loyal dog, Tit Loup. Tragically, after an accident prevented Blanchard’s return one year, sightings of a dog resembling Tit Loup have been reported running along the riverbank at night, seemingly awaiting his master’s return.
