Bestla In Norse mythology, giantess, wife of Bor; daughter of the giant Bolturon; mother of the gods Odin, Vili, and Ve. Odin was thus descended from a giantess on his mother’s side, which means that the killing of Ymir by Odin was a killing within the family. Bestla appears in the Prose Edda.
