Grim, John (1946– ) Professor of religion at Harvard University and cofounder and codirector (with Mary Evelyn Tucker) of the Forum on Religion and Ecology. Grim’s published research has engaged with Native American and other indigenous religions, religion and ecology, ritual, and mysticism in the world’s religions. His book The Shaman (1983) discusses Ojibwe shamanic ritual complexes (including the Midewiwin), performance, and cosmology, but he has also engaged with shamans in South and East Asia and the Philippines.
