Shamanâs Drum
Shamanâs Drum – A âjournal of experiential shamanismâ published by the Cross-Cultural Shamanism Network, a not-for-profit educational organization. The magazine seeks to encourage the study of shamanism from a practical perspective, offering ethnographic papers on contemporary shamanic and neo-shamanic practice and experiential anthropology, as well as a forum for debate on the interface between indigenous and Western cultures and related issues. Interpretation is predominantly in the vein of transpersonal psychology, insider anthropology, and entheogenic performance, and it tends to take a generalist approach to shamanism as âtruly a universal human phenomenon, or complex of phenomena, that ultimately transcends culture or traditionââsuggesting that an Eliadean and/or Harnerist discourse influences the magazine.
