Spiritual Baptists

Spiritual Baptists – A movement that originated in Saint Vincent in the Caribbean but is now also growing in the United States, especially among Vincentian immigrants. Blending elements of African indigenous religions with revivalist Protestant Christianity, it has been identified as a possession cult, but may more properly be characterized as centered on purification and the enabling of alterations of perspective or the ability to “see” properly.
